St. Andrea Agapé Nagy-Eged-Hegy Egri Bikavér Grand Superior 2019

James Suckling, one of the world’s most renowned wine critics, awarded the 2018 vintage 98 points, ranking it 48th in a series featuring the 100 best wines of the year. Twenty years of continuous strife for the good and professionalism have paid off, and the Eger Bikavér from the Nagy-Eged vineyard has earned its place among the world’s most iconic red wines. It has an intense aroma with remarkable complexity. Blueberry, black plum and blackberry notes appear alongside mineral notes such as flint and gunpowder, which are typical of the Nagy-Eged vineyard. On the palate, the wine has an almost black core. High acidity is balanced by a rounded fullness. Medium, ripe tannins accompany each sip. The flavour brings forward notes of blueberry, cassis and barrel spices.
