The dry wines combine ageing potential with layered, complex aromatics, while the sweet wines can be described—without exaggeration—only in superlatives. This Aszú is nothing short of remarkable: compact and richly endowed, it offers a silky, beautifully drinkable palate that could almost merit the term nectar, yet is always counterbalanced by a core of vibrant acidity that provides clarity and definition. Among its many aromatic facets—offered here without any claim to completeness—are notes of candied orange and lemon, peach, pear, Earl Grey black tea, pineapple, and dried apricot, with a touch of ginger; the finish reveals raspberry seed, grated orange zest, and toasted pine nut.
